Authors' Background Chris and Terri have been writing in partnership since the mid-70s, honing their skills in a variety of fields. Both have a long-time interest in S.F. and fantasy, as well as history. Terri has been married for 35 years, has one son (and a daughter-in-law), and has shared her life with cats for 33 of those years. At present resident in Grand Cayman, in the British West Indies, she is an active member of the local Humane Society, paints watercolours, and (of course) continues to write. Chris is divorced, and lives in Salisbury, England, with her son and daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. And the cat. Not surprisingly, one of her abiding interests is Archaeology, and she is active in historical re-enactment groups. Authors' Notes Tribute Trail started out as a series of 'scenes' written as entertainment for a circle of friends. Then the scenes started to make sense as part of a story. The characters became fleshed out and began their own narration of events. Most stories begin with a 'what if?' Our interest in early cultures, and what happens when they intersect, became mixed with the repeating drama of Goddess-worship versus the Sky-Gods. On our world, technological cultures win -- Romans conquer Celts, Normans conquer Saxons, Europeans conquer Native Americans. What would happen if a less-structured people had an extra edge, with Powers their enemies no longer believe in? We hope you find the idea as fascinating as we do. |
